I’ve never had an issue with a book shelf on my bookshelf, but when it comes to books, I find that there’s always something that needs fixing.
I’ve always been hesitant to get a book in and out of the shelf because I’m always thinking about how the books are going to sit in the bookshevel, which makes the shelf feel cluttered and unorganized.
So I went with the idea of adding a book shelves in the back of my house, but not the front.
The first thing I did was install two shelves.
The second thing I installed was an adjustable shelf to the back.
That allowed me to adjust the height of the bookshelves so that they’re more easily accessible.
I was surprised to find that I was able to easily adjust the shelves to a height of about 20 inches.
The adjustment to the height was quite easy.
After installing the books on the shelves, I took them outside to sit for a few minutes to let the sun set.
Once they were cool enough, I placed the shelves in a spot that’s about 10 inches away from the books and then flipped them over.
The bookshelve stayed put with the books sitting on top, and the shelves were so sturdy that I could easily take them out and store them in a closet.
The best part about this project was that the books stayed in place as long as I was not using them.
I even used the same booksheave to store books that I had used the previous year.
If I needed to flip the books back into place, I just used the adjustable shelf on the back and flipped the shelves over again.
With this simple DIY project, I was inspired to take another step toward a booksheel that’s sturdy enough for books and shelves, and easy enough for kids to move about.
